久々にVHSのビデオデッキで映画を見る。でも途中で飽きて、映像を早回ししたり、逆再生したりジョグシャトルでスクラッチして遊んでいたら、ふと脳裏をよぎったある疑問・・。

ハーディガーディ（Hurdy-Gurdy）というのはヨーロッパの民族楽器で、ヴァイオリンの弓を輪っか状にすることで弦を擦り続け、持続音を出しながら演奏する楽器。もちろん構造は全く別物だけれど、"回転させることで同じ情報を持続させる"というところはなんだか良く似ている。
